The Planning & Development Committee is one of the several statutory authorities of the National University. The following members comprise the Planning & Development committee of the National University.
Members of the Planning & Development Committee
- Vice-Chancellor, Chairman of the committee
- Two Pro-Vice- Chancellors
- Treasurer
- All Deans
- Director General, Secondary and Higher Secondary Education
- Director General, Secondary and Higher Secondary Education
- Two specialists to be nominated by the Government, one from among the Architects or Engineers and the other from either Educational Planning or Business or Public Administration.
- Registrar
- Director, Planning & Development Member-Secretary of the committee.
Functions and Responsibilities of the Planning & Development office
The Planning & Development office works for achieving the goals of development activities of the National University. Planning & Development office prepares Project Concept Paper (PCP) and discusses it with the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC). After receiving the financial assurance from the UGC, Planning & Development office submits it to the Govt. for final approval. After the final approval of the Govt. the Development project is put to execution.
Thus the Planning & Development office is involved in the following activities:
- Preparation of Project Concept Paper (P.C.P) and Project Proforma (P.P) of National University.
- Monitoring of Development Programme of National University.
- Supervision of all development works of National university.
Dealing with University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC), Ministry of Education (MOE), Planning Commission (PC), Implementation, Monitoring & Evaluation Division (IMED), Finance Division and other Ministry related to scheme activities.
- Preparation of statement for fund release break-up and periodical statement.
- Preparation of working paper for monthly ADP review meeting under the UGC & Ministry of Education (MOE)
- Preparation of reports in the prescribed forms, reports for use of IMED, Finance and Education Division.
