Molla Mahfuz Al-Hossain is the Registrar of the National University. He is an efficient administrator. In every field of his career, he has left the signature of talent and thinking. The ideals, principles, beliefs, philosophy, and values he holds are to be followed.

He was born on 22 November 1968 at his maternal uncle's village Nawda Kharara in Kushtia district. He spent some time in his childhood at his ancestral home in Garchapra village of Chuadanga district. Growing up, studying, and living in Dhaka city. He holds his bachelor's degree in law and master's degree in accounting. He also got an ISO 9000 internal audit certificate from the Quality Institute of America (QIA) and completed policymaker certificate course from the University of Nottingham, Malaysia. Molla Mahfuz Al-Hossain is the second of five children of his lawyer father and social worker mother. He has already spent 26 years of loving married life with his shadow partner working in a development agency.

He is a renowned poet, aestheticist, and translator of the nineties. He is the Associate Editor of Shaluk, a Little Magazine of Modernist Thought, and the Editorial Board Member of the International Literary Journal, Litinfinite, published from Kolkata, India.

His notable books of poetry are: Subasito shobder Ghumghore (Seductions from scented words), Proteechyer Bugle (Western Bugle), Kalkeuter Taxidermy (Taxidermy of Black Cobra), Probably Poems or May Not, Dukkhabilaser Pulitzer (Pulitzer of Sorrow) Schizophrenic Rakhal Balika (Schizophrenic Shepherd Girl) and Moner Bagh (Tiger of the Mind). In addition, hundreds of poems, poetic translations, and essays written by the poet in Bengali and English have been published in numerous little magazines, periodicals, journals, and anthologies in the country and around the world. Several of his poems have been translated into English, Swedish, and other languages.
